The Lawyers' Next Targets
Pharmaceutical Companies Are Being Sued
An article in the Nov. 1, 2004 issue of Forbes magazine indicates that the withdrawal of the drug Vioxx from the market has set off a feeding frenzy among trial lawyers. The following drugs could be vulnerable to future lawsuits:
- Zyprexa, will global sales of $4.3 Billion, may be vulnerable since this drug used to treat schizophrenia also raised the risk of developing diabetes.
- Paxil, with global sales of $3.1 Billion, may be a target as this anti-depressant and others like it have been linked to increased suicidal thoughts in kids.
- Neurotonin, with global sales of $2.7 Billion, is attracting attorneys since a drug company subsidiary pled guilty for promoting this epilepsy drug for unapproved uses.
- Prempro, with global sales of $1.3 Billion is already involved in over 2000 lawsuits since it was disclosed that this drug used for estrogen replacement therapy raised the risk for heart attack and breast cancer.
- Bextra, with global sales just shy of $1.0 Billion, is under scrutiny since it is in the same class of drug as Vioxx and may also be associated with increased risk of heart problems.
These five drugs alone account for almost $12.5 BILLION in global sales and there are more being looked at. Lawsuits may make the prescription drug business very ugly. Why do you think this is happening?

New research indicates that appropriate chiropractic care is effective in the drug-free recovery from a wide ranging array of health problems...not just back pain. Why isn't more money spent on natural approaches to health with wide ranging benefits and no side effects that are cost effective and safe? There is no potential for profit from $12.5 Billion in sales.
Use Chiropractic to Stay Healthy
A recent study, published in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research, describes a 19-year old female diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) who suffered with both organic and psychiatric symptoms for two years. After a 4 months of chiropractic care, the woman reported an 80% reduction in her anxiety symptoms and a 90% decrease in her headaches. The patient was able to resume a normal lifestyle without resorting to prescription or over-the-counter drugs. The patient's previous medical treatment had included multiple emergency room visits; private specialists; and a rotation of drug therapies including Paxil, Xanax, and Celexa which all failed to manage her symptoms.
